At the Department of Educational Sciences, research is pursued on subject didactics, school and education history, and the sociology of education, by fourteen doctoral students, ten licentiate students and two professors.
An educational sciences research environment has been built up since the Department of Educational Sciences was established in March 2011. The environment consists of the department’s professors, doctoral students and licentiate students with diverse specialisations in areas such as subject didactics, school and education history and the sociology of education. - be marked by disciplinary breadth and in-depth scholarship;
- contribute to scholarly knowledge development in the teaching profession and teacher training;
- be characterised by relevance and a scholarly, critical approach.

Research school focused on teacher education and practice-based research
How can we bridge the gap between teacher education and real-world classroom teaching? This is one of the key questions that the research school ROCIT, based at the Department of Educational Sciences at Lund University, aims to address.
